Samsung is revealing that the Omnia brand will be reserved for Windows Mobile devices only meaning that any Samsung Omnia will be a Windows Phone. The latest Omnia announced, the Omnia HD, will be stripped of the Omnia branding and will instead be referred to as the i8910.
Why the change? According to WMExperts, Samsung wants to minimize any confusion to which operating system the Omnia runs. The good news here is that Samsung will most likely release additional Windows Phones in the Omnia franchise now that Microsoft will be given exclusivity to the naming convention. The sad news is that other phones will have to bear the confusing letter and number naming scheme that is unmemorable.
