MWC: TI Hopeful for a Windows Phone with Capacitive Touch, HDMI

Texas Instrument is developing a concept platform to show off its new processor. The platform sports Windows Mobile 6.5 with a capacitive touch–the same touchscreen technology that is on the G1, the iPhone, and the BlackBerry Storm. The TI OMAP 3430 is a powerful beast and supports many features, including an HDMI port. Imagine that–playing your hi-def videos on that big plasma you bought.

Here are specs of the prototype device according to WMExperts:

-TI OMAP 3430 Proc with stacked 256MB low power DDR SDRAM and 512 NAND Flash Memory

-Capacitive Touchscreen (yeah really)

-4.1″ 800×480 WVGA Display

-QWERTY keypad

-3G Modem Module (optional)

-WiFi, Bluetooth, FM, Accelerometers

-Video Out port – HDMI

-6-in-1 SD/MMC Card Slot

-USB On-The-Go Port

-Debug Board

-Stereo Speakers and dual microphones

Windows Mobile 6.5 still needs some optimization to decrease some wait time, but HDMI, WVGA, and USB On-The-Go port sounds super sweet!
