Motorola Q11 Napoleon Spotted in the Wild Again

Unfortunately, the globe-trotting successor to the Motorola Q, which we had reviewed, will still be sporting Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. Especially now that we have gotten a glimpse of 6.5, this is kind of devastating as the phone looks good. The new Napoleon should conquer the world, at least using Verizon Wireless’ network, with GSM roaming for overseas coverage and CDMA/EVDO for State-side support.

The device has appeared some time ago, and disappeared without a release. Now, it’s popping its head up again, and the thing comes with a biometric fingerprint scanner for paranoid corporate execs. The device would have fared a lot better against BlackBerry users who may want to drop their Curve for this one. Unfortunately, a QVGA screen may drive people to a more high-resolution BlackBerry Bold or Storm with display resolutions being upped. Better yet, an HTC device with Windows Mobile 6.5 and high resolution display may be worth the wait.
