If you’re still hanging onto your Windows Mobile 6.1 device because it’s upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5, you may have some time to wait before that turns into a reality. According to a Microsoft official who was present at the San Diego Windows phone launch on October 6, 2009, upgrades are scheduled to appear within the next six months. Microsoft was careful to preface that blanket statement by saying that the decision and timing, however, was entirely up to OEMs and carriers.
