Update: Engadget Mobile confirms that this is a hoax.

Looks like a Zune Phone may be coming after all despite rumors, denials, and nay-sayers. According to Engadget Mobile, a Microsoft tweet on Twitter reveals two important things:

1. Don’t buy an iPhone or Pre

2. A new product will be coming that is significant for Zune owners.

The first tweet reveals an interesting comparison. Rather than comparing the Zune to a phone-less iPod or iPod Touch, Microsoft is taking on the phones on rival carriers AT&T with the iPhone and Sprint with the Palm Pre. This could very well mean that a Zune Phone, based on Windows Mobile and Zune technology, could make its way to a carrier sometime in June–that carrier is rumored to be Verizon Wireless.
