With Marketplace for Mobile having launched alongside Windows Mobile 6.5, Microsoft had promised that there would be several pays to pay for apps and get apps onto the device. Well, today, Marketplace for Mobile for Windows phones comes to the desktop via your browser. You can now browse, search, and manage for account from your desktop and have the content sync with your Windows phones.

Consumers can point their desktop browsers to marketplace.windowsphone.com to purchase and browse apps. When consumers go onto their Windows phones and launch the Marketplace for Mobile application on the device, their new purchases should begin to download onto the device: The selected applications are delivered wirelessly to the customer’s Windows phone and install the next time the Windows Marketplace client runs on the device. This creates another way for customers to easily find and purchase applications and gives developers a whole new level of exposure.

On the developer side, Microsoft has also made moves to implement greater anti-piracy protection as well. Additionally, an official installation file to get Marketplace onto Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 devices should hit later in the month.
