Lifestyle: Sony Ericsson Pureness is an XPERIA Where High Tech Meets High Fashion
File under: News
While Samsung is doing its best to reserve the Omnia brand for Windows Mobile phones, Sony Ericsson is working on diluting its XPERIA brand, adding the Android X3 as an XPERIA member, and now the XPERIA Pureness. While the XPERIA X1 combined form and function with the X2 offering innovation on hardware technology, the new XPERIA Pureness seems like a regular feature phone, albeit a high end feature phone. The Pureness, an heir to the XPERIA family, brings chic, minimalistic industrial design with a bland OS.
Unlike XPERIAs that we're fond of, the Pureness is all looks, which may not be a bad thing. Gone is the business-like slider that reminds of the Touch Pro2, which looks and feel drab next to the label-less rows of black buttons on the Pureness' design. The screen, though not flush and WVGA in resolution like the XPERIA X2, is cystal clear. And by crystal clear, we don't mean that it has a crisp resolution (though we hope that it will be crisp), but rather the display is see-through. The transparent display is the high tech bit right now that we can see that blends with the fashion appeal.
And unlike the Dolce and Gabbana Jalou, the Pureness is one that echoes zen-like sophistication. Its understated appeal will tickle the hearts of purist fashionistas everywhere. Gone is the bling and in is a sophisticated look for Fall that will spell elegance and high fashion. Even the promo video lacks sound because SE decided that the marketing should reflect the product, which was sculpted to reflect the purity of water and the serene calmness when not in use.
The high tech and high fashion appeal of the Pureness should make Vertus feel like a child's toy in the realm of designer wannabes next to the Vogue-like attractiveness of Pureness. Perhaps, this is something that our own fashion expert, Ms. Jenna Gonzales, would agree to!
Expect purity in Pureness in November in select cities.
