While we can’t deny that the Vodafone exclusive LG GM750 is an attractive Windows Mobile smartphone, we can’t also deny that it’s styling has a distinct Omnia-clone feeling to it. The device will be released with Windows Mobile 6.5 and LG’s proprietary S-Class UI, which will compete directly with Samsung’s widgets via TouchWiz, the UI on the Omnia II.
LG has kept the hardware buttons to a minimum and there isn’t a Windows button. At this point, it is hard to decipher whether the front center button is an actual button, a discrete directional pad, or if it’s a trackpad–if it’s in fact a trackpad then it’d be a direct rip from the original Samsung Omnia.
Not much details is given about the device other than that it will have WiFi, GPS, 5-megapixel camera, and a 3-inch touchscreen–a resolution was not specified. It will be initially launched in seven countries on October 6th along with the launch date of Windows Mobile 6.5.
The device will be a Vodafone exclusive. It may make it in CDMA form factor to Verizon Wireless eventually as Vodafone owns part of Verizon Wireless, a joint venture between Verizon and Vodafone.
