The electronic ink dedicated reading device known as the Amazon Kindle–which we have reviewed in the past–will be making its journey across the world. The international version, which will support 3G and GSM networks, will be supported by AT&T and will sell for $279 when it launches on October 19. The purely American version, which latches onto Sprint’s high speed EVDO network, will get a price drop to $259.
For the international edition, the price premium should hopefully cover international roaming costs.
