Huawei’s Foray Into Windows Mobile with C8000 Clones HTC Touch Design

China’s Huawei is attempting to break into the Windows Mobile camp and compete with HTC for the manufacturing Windows Mobile devices. Huawei’s C8000 is a Windows Mobile handset with a 2.8-inch screen, though not much else is known at this time. The C8000 at this time looks a lot like a clone of the HTC Touch. Somehow, it seems that Huawei missed the memo about competition leading to innovation, not copying.

That said, the device will have its own 3D interface and some sort of hardware adapter for smooth video playback. We’re not sure if that’s just fancy lingo for a graphics processor (GPU).

The device is expected to land on select carriers, including TIM and T-Mobile. Perhaps worldwide carriers can expect a Touch Diamond design as the C8000 successor.
