HTC Snap for AT&T Customers

If you’ve been eyeing the HTC Snap from our reviews and are on AT&T, fret not. A version of the HTC Snap, also called the HTC S522, will be headed to the States with USA 3G coverage. Said version has cleared the FCC. However, don’t get your hopes fully up just yet as this model probably won’t be available through AT&T.

The Snap has been confirmed for three major carriers–Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless–and will be available for a subsidized price once released. However, this model, the S522, will be available unlocked, probably through retail channels like Best Buy, at an unsubsidized price meaning you won’t have to sign any contracts but you won’t get any discounts. The 3G S522 should be compatible with the AT&T’s wireless frequencies so you will be able to tap into the carrier’s mobile high speed network. That said, AT&T already has a Snap competitor in the form of the Samsung Jack.
