HTC Snap and Touch Pro2 Release Dates for T-Mobile

Filed under the rumors section for now, but TmoNews has obtained some tentative dates for two of the hottest HTC handsets to hit this year. The first is the Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard HTC Snap, which should be headed to the masses on July 1st. T-Mobile should get its own 3G variant of the 3G/GSM Snap so that it is compatible on the network, which uses a different operating frequency than most other 3G phones worldwide.

The second device is the Touch Pro2, which is code-named the Rhodium, and is due on T-Mobile as the Wing II on July 22nd. Again, like the HTC Snap, T-Mobile USA will receive its own version of the Touch Pro2 to be compatible on the carrier’s US network. The Wing II is scheduled to replace the original T-Mobile Wing, which is a touchscreen Windows Mobile device with a QVGA screen and operates on the carrier’s 2.5G EDGE network, not quite a high end device by today’s standard. The Touch Pro2 should up the ante to a high resolution WVGA screen with 3G data speeds.

Will T-Mobile USA be the first in the US to launch the Touch Pro2?
