HTC, Palm, Samsung, Research in Motion, LG, and other manufacturers of cellular phones are being hit with a patent infringement lawsuit relating to antennas according to PhoneScoop. Fractus, the plaintiff, is alleging that the cell phone makers are violating nine patents relating to its antenna technology.
According to the Fractus press release, it seems that the firm does have a legitimate claim to the patent and this is not another patent troll who holds a broad patent without ever making a product relating to the patent award it holds. According to the firm, “Fractus has been, and remains, an active supplier of antennas and has shipped millions of antennas worldwide.”
