HTC Leak: Verizon Phone Latest Details

In our preliminary and subsequent more detailed analysis of the HTC 2009 lineup leak that was spotted on the internet, we uncovered some HTC phones that may be coming to Verizon, particularly those with the code name Cedar, Whitestone, and the Twin. SlashGear has uncovered that the GSM Global Certification Forum has posted that HTC Windows Phone model XV6175 will support quad-band GSM, making it world phone compliant.

Traditionally, Verizon devices usually bear the XV moniker followed by a series of digits for model numbers. Verizon Wireless has also been known to carry world phones for global roaming, usually tying the international service to Verizon's partners, creating added revenues for the carrier rather than having customers carry a pre-paid phone in their destination country.

At this time, it is still unclear which of the three HTC models will carry the XV6175 model to have world phone capabilities, though the flagship Whitestone model, which is the largest in terms of screen size and carries with it a kickstand, is a likely candidate.

The Whitestone will be an interesting device for Verizon Wireless because the form factor is so similar to the current flagship device the BlackBerry Storm, which has received mixed reviews in the press.
