Google GMail to Support Free Push Email Via Exchange ActiveSync

Google's GMail service will begin supporting push email for users for free using Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync technology. Google had previously used Exchange for push contacts and calendars, and now Google will also enable push email to its Google Mail users. If you haven't signed up for Exchange ActiveSync through your company's corporate email account or via an Exchange hosted service, GMail push may be a great free solution for you.

The service currently is available for iPhone, iPod Touch and Windows Mobile devices according to Google, but I am guessing that most phones that support Exchange ActiveSync protocols should work. Your mileage may vary and backup your data before enabling Google Exchange ActiveSync services.

To learn more about setting up Google Sync, please visit the Google page.
