Designer Themes Coming to Windows Mobile 6.5

As Engadget is reporting, Microsoft has invited some fashion designers to create new themes for use in Windows Mobile 6.5.

“Phones are just as much a fashion statement as the clothes you wear,” said Mizrahi, fashion designer and TV personality. “As a designer, I’m excited to team up with Microsoft to bring forth fresh and funky new ways for people to make their Windows® phones a part of their personality. Cast aside your old black phone, and make this year about colour and fun.”

I’ve always wanted a more consistent theme support in Windows Mobile as you can see from my feature requests, and thankfully Microsoft has been working on extending this capability in Windows Mobile 6.5.

Microsoft also intends to release a Theme Designers (as they did back in 2002), so that users can create their own custom themes for their Windows Phones.

Do you like to customize your phone with personalized themes?
