Crazy Smartphone Tests

From seeing if the iPhone “would it blend” experiments to drop tests and scratching the phones, what is the craziest smartphone test you have seen? The video above, shown on CrackBerry, depicts a guy putting a pointed knife, keys, and a sharp receipt holder to the new BlackBerry Storm. Being a gadget lover, these videos make me cringe.

On the bright side, the Storm’s glass screen does not scratch. That is one advantage of using a capacitive touchscreen is that you can use glass for the top layer, which is less prone to scratching than plastic. Windows Mobile devices uses resistive touch, which makes it more accurate for stylus and finger navigation, but uses a thin plastic layer on top of glass to enable that technology. That means that those screens are a bit more prone to scratches than the former.
