While a lot of the mainstream press has a certain bias against Windows Mobile for whatever reason, it seems that Consumer Reports loves Windows Mobile. With four out of the top five mobile phone being a Windows Mobile device on the list, jkOnTheRun is questioning how knowledgeable the Consumer Reports staff is because those four devices are really dated devices, although they still serve their purpose, without 3G.
Here’s the top five list:
1. Samsung Blackjack II
2. T-Mobile Wing
3. Motorola Q9C
4. T-Mobile Shadow
5. Blackberry Pearl Flip
Given that Consumer Reports cater towards the consumer demographics and not enterprise users, it is not surprising that Research in Motion’s clamshell–the Pearl Flip–made it because it is new, but I am not entirely convinced that it is better nor more popular than the consumer-oriented BlackBerry Pearl or Curve.
According to jkOnTheRun, the iPhone 3G and the Android G1 were further down on the list: These phones are all fine smartphones but it is surprising that only one Blackberry made the cut, and where the heck is the iPhone 3G? The iPhone 3G was further down the list and actually tied with the T-Mobile G1.
What do you think? What’s your favorite Windows Mobile device?
