A new firmware is slated for the XPERIA X1 handset, Sony Ericsson’s first foray into Windows Mobile after being a long-time maker of Symbian handhelds. As reported by Engadget Mobile, the new firmware will bring BlackBerry Connect to the handheld, increasing its appeal to enterprise customers who may be locked into a BlackBerry ecosystem. Since the XPERIA X1 runs Windows Mobile, it can also handle the competing Exchange ActiveSync for push email and notifications as well.
