Steve Ballmer has confirmed that Windows Mobile 7 will be coming next year, according to the latest from WMPowerUser. Microsoft has been increasing its efforts in the Windows Mobile division, with expenditures amounting to $900 million per year, or 4% of the total expenses in Redmond. The firm also employs approximately 2,000 employees, shy of 2,900 by RIM.
It looks like Microsoft is building greater momentum for its smartphone division. Ballmer’s vision going forward is more unity between Windows and Windows Mobile, leading to an even more powerful platform that will, hopefully, synchronize with ease to the desktop counterpart.
