AT&T Raising Deductible for Asurian Insurance

Chuong Nguyen | September 9, 2008 3:26 AM

If you were rejoicing that AT&T Mobility recently allowed most smartphones to be insured under its insurance policy with Asurian, you may want to hold your breath on that one. Although many smartphones, iPhone excluded, can be covered, the deductible rate will increase. Until November 2, 2008, the deductible for lost or damaged insured phones through the wireless carrier will be $50. However, smartphone deductible beginning November 3rd will be increased to $125. Current models to be increased to Tier 2 service, which warrants the increased deductible, includes the Tilt. You can view the complete list of equipment and their coverage through the AT&T insurance page.

Be careful about damaging and not losing your equipment! Cracked screens are a common problem with smartphones.
