AT&T Not Allowing iPhone Tethering Due to Faulty Network

Well, this should provide little reassurance for AT&T subscribers who are with a mobile data plan. According to The Boy Genius Report, AT&T has yet to release a tethering plan for the iPhone 3G due to worries that the network may not be able to handle capacity. Tethering plans have been offered on many platforms across a variety of different devices from Windows Mobile, Palm OS, and BlackBerry on the wireless network. The Boy Genius Report is also speculating that only a small number of iPhone users will opt to tether. If this is true, then that doesn’t bode well for confidence in the network.
