Apple has updated their iTunes website to show details for iPhone applications online. As you know, the Windows Mobile Marketplace has been able to do this since shortly after its launch. Actually, Microsoft still has something better. With the Apple App store, you have to run iTunes in order to install any program you find through the website. With the Windows Mobile Marketplace, all you have to do is sign in with your Live ID. This can be done from any computer at any time. Then you can purchase apps through the website, and the next time you start the Marketplace app on your phone, you’ll be notified of the new downloads and you’ll be able to install them all at once. The new web-based Apple app store is still useful for being able to forward links to specific applications to others via email or instant messenger.
