Apple, AT&T Getting More Open About Carrier Network, VOIP and Sling Over 3G

After Apple, and presumably AT&T, had placed a ban over certain iPhone apps from streaming content over the carrier’s 3G mobile data network, effectively restricting VOIP and Sling Player Mobile over WiFi only. A short time ago, Apple had opened up and allowed 3G VOIP calls and now AT&T has approved of a more network-friendly Sling Player Mobile client that will be less data-intensive, which is now going through the approval process at Apple. The AT&T 3G-compatible Sling Player Mobile app will soon be available on the App Store for $30.
