Google Search is getting voice enabled on Android. The voice search is similar to the feature found in Live Search, Microsoft’s mapping application for Windows Mobile. Users can tap the microphone icon and speak their search query.
The voice-enabled searching feature is built into the new Android update, which is being rolled out. The voice search feature was first released on the iPhone in the Google Mobile application. Unlike the iPhone, which requires you to enter Google’s application, the voice search feature is found in the browser by default. Especially with the lack of true multi-tasking on the iPhone, this route is more practical and would make more sense.
According to the Google Mobile blog, if your speech is not interpreted correctly, try tapping the down arrow to the right of the search box and you’ll see a drop down list of other suggested queries.
At this rate, should Microsoft just kill of Pocket Internet Explorer and adopt Pocket Chrome (Google’s browser) with voice search for Windows Mobile?
