If you like shopping at Amazon.com, perhaps AmazonWireless.com will be your preferred destination to buy the latest smartphone or feature phone. The online retailer will be creating a custom net address and shopping portal catering the wireless phones. The service will be competing with other discount phone retailers and Best Buy Mobile.

Currently, the wireless portal carries phones from AT&T and Verizon Wireless, with T-Mobile and Sprint missing from the lineup. However, the retailer states that it plans to expand its phone coverage and add more carriers in the future.

AmazonWireless is looking to capitalize on consumer confusion regarding the latest technology and mobile phones. The service will offer comparison shopping from features to price. According to Yahoo, More than half of women and 42 percent of men are confused about which smartphone to buy, and more than half of adults over 50 express this confusion. Sixty-four percent of Americans say they don’t own a smartphone because the devices are too expensive.
