Acer to Have Balanced Windows Mobile, Android Portfolio

Acer seems to be following in HTC’s stead with Windows Mobile rival HTC already having stated that they will balance their portfolio more evenly in the long-run and shifting strategy from being a large Windows Mobile OEM to a portfolio that will be more evenly distributed between Microsoft and Google’s Android. Acer has already launched one Android device this year, the Acer Liquid, which essentially has been a re-badge of the Windows Mobile neoTouch S200.

The company states that it will ship between eight and ten Android handsets in the coming year and will have a more evenly divided portfolio between the two operating systems. The firm should still be a Windows Mobile 7 launch partner.
