Over the past couple weeks, we've heard about more than a few Androids rumored to be in the works for Verizon in the US, with @evleaks providing many of the details. He's already told us to expect the carrier to pick up Sony's Xperia Z2 Tablet, and informed us that while other carriers would get the HTC One mini 2, Verizon would be renaming the handset to the HTC One Remix. We've even had a couple opportunities to check out One Remix imagery, but today not only brings us the highest quality Remix render to date, but brings along a shot of the Z2 Tablet with Verizon's branding to keep it ...

There are no details concerning the Verizon Xperia Z2 Tablet, so we can't tell you exactly when it will land, and how much it will go for. What we do know, thanks to @evleaks, is that the slate is going to arrive, at one point, on Big Red's line-up. The tablet was announced at this year's MWC in Barcelona, alongside the Sony Xperia Z2, and the M2. US carriers didn't pick up the Xperia Z2 yet -- and if last year's Z1 is any indication, it might last a little longer until someone does -- but some retailers enable fans of the phone in North America to grab it. The story should be different ...

When it comes to getting content from our phones onto our TVs, we have plenty of options. Maybe your phone has a physical HDMI output (though those seem to be getting increasingly rare). Maybe you do things wirelessly, using Miracast or an accessory like Chromecast. A lot of smartphone users connect to their televisions using MHL though their phones' micro USB port, which not only carries the video signal, but helps power your phone while it's acting as a video source. As it turns out, among all the product launches we got to see last week at MWC 2014, the first couple devices supporting ...

Anton D. Nagy chasing a taxi on foot. Jaime Rivera almost burning down a building with a power strip. A Honduran drinking palinca and a Romanian doing a Mexican accent. The tales from our leather-clad Barcelona duo are intense - but their intensity is matched by the hot mobile news that burst forth from this week's Mobile World Congress, the most epic in recent memory. To wit, that news includes an MWC 2014 Samsung Unpacked event that gave the world the latest Galaxy; a Sony unveiling of similar proportions that built on the Xperia legacy; a press conference that saw the world's first ...

Sony's new Xperia Z2 Tablet may have another big 10.1-inch screen, but this puppy is seriously compact, measuring-in at just 6.4mm thick. Of course, we can't talk about incredibly thin tablets without stepping outside the Android sphere and looking at Apple's also-crazy-thin iPad Air, with a slim 7.5mm thick profile. We brought along just such a tablet to the MWC this morning, letting us put these two slates head-to-head. Even though we're looking at comparable display sizes when measured diagonally, the difference in aspect ratio here really make the two contrast well; even with the Air's ...

"Out of all the Android tablets we saw last year, one of our favorites was the Sony Tablet Z - and now we get to see its successor, the Xperia Tablet Z2." Jaime Rivera is spot on with his intro to this hands-on video: the Tablet Z wowed us when we reviewed it last year, its thin waterproof chassis raising the bar for tablet hardware quality - but its smallish battery and sometimes-sluggish software impaired an otherwise excellent experience. With the Xperia Tablet Z2, Sony (presumably) aims to fix some of those shortcomings. Its front-firing speakers, Snapdragon 801 processor, and 3GB of ...

MWC 2014's big Monday is off to a big, big start, with Nokia's multiple Android launches stealing a lot of this morning's thunder. Still, it's far from the only company showing off new hardware this morning, and you might remember from our MWC preview that Sony was also scheduled to share news of its own lineup additions. We figured that the Xperia Z2 Tablet was likely to show its face, and there was a good chance we'd see Sony's codename Sirius handset. It looks like we were right on the money, and this morning Sony announced not just the Z2 Tablet, but also the Xperia Z2 itself, as well ...

While Pocketnow's North American roots come in handy quite often, the arrangement isn't without its snags. We do miss out on the occasional smartphone release by virtue of our location, and the brand most often affected by this is the somewhat Euro-centric Sony. As listeners of the Pocketnow Weekly podcast are aware, this causes us some heartburn; it's frustrating to miss the chance to go hands-on with the latest and greatest. But we almost always manage to snag Sony demo units somehow. Over the past few years, the fine people at Clove Technology and Negri Electronics have loaned us ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Huawei's recent teaser of what we can expect from the company at MWC 2014. Nokia follows the rumor mill as we get some additional leaks of the Nokia X, aka, Nokia Normandy in some Android green. Then we go through the news that the Samsung Galaxy S 5 is already being set for sign-up and pre-order. Then we talk about the new leaks of the possible Sony Xperia Tablet Z2, which we consider to be the successor to one of the better Android tablets of our time. We end today's show talking about the leaked photos of the HTC M8 All this and more after ...

We only got done telling you about some rumored specs for Sony's follow-up to last year's Xperia Tablet Z a couple hours ago, but little did we know that so much more about this tablet was waiting for us. A full series of press renders of the tablet has leaked, and this second source gives credence to the specs we already heard, while adding some new details. Up top you'll see the render @evleaks leaked, which while a little low-res, gives us a nice, clean look at the tablet. Below, we've got a bunch more pics from new and so-far-unproven tipster “Gadget Leaks” (who will hopefully ...

Following its Japanese introduction in January of last year, Sony's Xperia Tablet Z (above) made its international debut at the 2013 Mobile World Congress. Now with this year's Sony MWC press event just one week away, we're curious to learn about any possible work towards a follow-up; sure, Sony has some smartphone hardware it's been working on, but it's been a full year now since the company came out with a new tablet. If some newly leaked specs can be trusted, it sounds like the presumed Xperia Tablet Z2 will largely deliver, though we can spot a few areas where the tablet may find ...
