A few days back, we learned about a leaked T-Mobile screenshot that seemed to foretell the arrival of a software update for Nokia's Lumia 710, set to start going out yesterday. The release would bring the phone up to Tango, along with finally granting it a WiFi hotspot mode. Now that the date has passed, we haven't heard any confirmation from users actually getting the update, and now Nokia itself has posted a message that an update for the 710 and 800 will instead start going out to Lumia owners worldwide as of June 27. The Nokia Lumia 610 represents a new breed of Windows Phones, those running Windows Phone 7.5 (codenamed Tango). This version of the platform was designed by Microsoft with low specifications in mind and the Redmond-based company, together with its OEMs, like Nokia, are hoping that these low-end/budget phones will help the platform gain market share as well as enter emerging markets.
