Back at the start of October, Dell unveiled a set of four new tablets. The Android models didn't instill us with a whole lot of desire, but the manufacturer's pair of new Windows 8.1 tablets – and full-blown, not RT, mind you – really struck a chord with us. Those were the Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro, and we brought you an early hands-on to introduce you to them. Another one of the new tablets that Dell announced is the Dell Venue 11 Pro. This one has a nice 11 inch screen which would be better for desktop applications compared to the smaller Venue 8 Pro. The tablet includes options for Atom or Core i3/i5 Haswell chips, a 10.8-inch 1080p display, and 2GB of RAM (with up to 8GB available). Storage starts at 32GB (going up to 256GB), and this tablet measures 10mm thick and weighs 1.57 pounds. The base Venue 11 Pro will go for just about $500. After seeing Dell turn its backs on the smartphone market last year, the company's been repositioning its mobile efforts to focus on tablets, instead. Right at the end of August, we heard that the company might have a couple new Windows-based models launching before the end of the year, including both an 8-inch and 10.6-inch device. Sure enough, today Dell comes through with the announcement of not just those two models, but a pair of Android tablets, as well.
