Smartphones claiming to be the world's thinnest keep popping up one after the other, each time shaving off barely noticeable fractions of a millimeter as they push further and further towards becoming essentially two-dimensional. Chasing such targets can often be a losing proposition for phones, trading important specs like battery life in order to slim down even more. A little earlier this month, we heard Huawei announce its Ascend P6, a quad-core Android with 4.7-inch HD screen that measures only 6.18 millimeters thick. We remarked at the time that records like that have a way of being short-lived, so it's hardly surprising that this week we're already learning of another Android that just blazes right past the P6's record, coming in just 5.6 millimeters thick.
