We've known for a few months now that Sprint has finally decided to stop watching Windows Phone 8 from the sidelines and get itself involved with the platform through the release of a pair of smartphones. We've also known to expect those guys to launch sometime this summer, and rumors had pegged the pair as the Samsung ATIV S and the long-rumored HTC Tiara. Well, rather than tease up some launch event and drag things out, Sprint has gone ahead and surprised us all this morning with the announcement of the Samsung ATIV S Neo and the HTC 8XT. The 8XT nearly aligns with those rumored Tiara ...

Sometimes, a purported render of a new smartphone really leaves us scratching our heads. Maybe it's totally legit, but the design is so off-kilter that we can't help but wonder if it's a fake – like what happened when we got an early look at the HTC One. Other times it's a really well-done fake that hits enough of the right notes that we can't quite tell if it's real or not. And then there are those times when we're just left wondering how anyone could think a sloppy fake is anything even approaching a real image – that's the boat we find ourselves in today, with a supposed HTC Tiara ...

The rumored HTC Tiara Windows Phone handset first popped-up back in February. Later, we heard from Sprint that it would get a late start on Windows Phone 8 with a pair of smartphones, and a rumor suggested one would be the Tiara. Eventually, we caught wind of a phone identifying itself as "HTCP0881_Sprint" and wondered if it this was the Tiara we were looking at. Now that same model's back, getting its FCC certification and preparing to launch on Sprint. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to match up the HTC model PO88100 which just saw its FCC paperwork go public with that HTCP0881_Sprint ...

Sprint is finally coming around to Windows Phone 8, and will belatedly embrace the platform as it adds two WP8 models to its lineup this summer. Rumors have suggested that these two initial handsets will be Samsung's ATIV S, which got sort of a bum rap when it first launched in spite of being a pretty attractive higher-end WP8 model, along with the HTC model we've been referring to as codename Tiara. As we wait to get confirmation on the carrier's plans, some evidence of a new HTC Windows Phone handset for Sprint has begun to surface, possibly backing up this Tiara rumor. One app's server ...

We love us some new technology, and we certainly give it its fair shake on today's episode of the Pocketnow Weekly. But every so often, you need to give a little lip-service to the tech of days gone by. The platforms and devices of yesteryear. That's right: I'm talking about dead technology. It makes sense, then, that a man going by the twitter handle DeadTechnology is here to help us dust off those fond memories. In his inaugural visit to the Pocketnow Weekly, our own Adam Doud pulls back the veil of public apathy secrecy surrounding the phenomenon of the "webOS meetup," a regular ...

Last week, we got an update on Sprint's plans to finally add Windows Phone 8 devices to its lineup, learning that the carrier had its eyes on a pair of phones with the intent on offering them this summer. While that news was nice to hear it kept us wondering: just which devices were we talking about? It's still not official, but a rumor attempting to ID this pair has just arrived, naming them as Samsung's ATIV S and the HTC device codenamed Tiara. That's an interesting selection, and has us just a bit upset with Sprint's earlier assurances that its first WP8 models would be "current" and ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about how Google doesn't seem to like the idea of building their own retail stores. We later talk about the rumored HTC Tiara, which proves that HTC is still committed to building Windows Phones. Then we talk about Nokia and their expansion plans, though instead of bringing more phones, they're clearly becoming more of a software company. The dual-screen Yotaphone is next, as we show you some hands-on coverage of the device at MWC 2013. We end today's show talking about how even Apple's Ad gurus admit that Samsung Ads are making a dent in their ...
