As rumors come and go about Apple’s plans for the future of OS X, it’s clear that the company has done a lot of progress in trying to merge both platforms as much as it can. We’ve even seen the OS X and iOS teams merge together recently in order to reach this goal, and today’s earlier leaks even show iOS 8 might include Preview and TextEdit apps as part of the update. We were all left with some confusion over why these apps are making it to the mobile platform, but new developments start giving some sense to the strategy.

As we reported yesterday, the rumors of what to expect for iOS 8 are already strong. We’ve already heard that Apple will be focusing heavily on improving the experience of Maps for its new mobile operating system, and we even heard that iTunes Radio is also getting some usability tweaks as well.
