We apologize for the late upload. We ran into lots of technical difficulties that delayed this video significantly. Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Microsoft's Surface 2 event, and some new rumors about the tablets to be announced. We then talk about Amazon and the sad confirmation that their rumors of a free phone are not going to happen. Then it's Nokia talk as we go through some leaked photos of the Lumia 1520, aside from a good price drop in the Lumia 1020 on AT&T. We follow with the sad news that FCC Nexus 5 leaks were really of another device from LG. We end ...

Well, speak of the devil! We only just finished telling you about the latest rumors to discuss Surface 2 hardware, when now we finally get some news about just when to expect these tablets to launch, with Microsoft distributing invites for a September 23 New York event. That should mean finally getting answers about all the hardware rumors we've been hearing, not just for the tablets themselves, but for for their accessories, as well. Those are slated to include the Power Cover, a Type Cover with an integrated battery to extend the life of the Surface 2 tablet to which it's attached, as ...

More and more rumors have been emerging about Microsoft's next Surface tablets, but recently that's felt like it's been focusing on the Pro edition, with talk about accessories like the Pro-only docking station. Today we hear some more about the RT-running version of this tablet, instead, including the idea that it could drop RT from its name completely. Don't get us wrong – it would still run Windows RT, and the latest 8.1 edition in this case – but would arrive simply as the Surface 2 (and then, presumably, there'd be the Surface 2 Pro or Pro 2). We've heard that theory before, but ...

We've been hearing a lot about the next generation of Microsoft Surface tablets in recent days, and while some of that has been talking about the tablets themselves, we've also been picking up rumors about the sort of accessories that Microsoft may be making available. For instance, there's that Power Cover, a Type Cover with an integrated battery to help extend how much use you can get out of your Surface on a charge. Now we're learning about another potential add-on, a full-fledged Surface docking station. While that Power Cover was rumored to support both new Surface 2 models, Pro and ...

For those of you wondering if Microsoft will continue selling their Surface tablet, well, let's just say that the company has to figure out how to get rid of that overstock anyway. New reports have Redmond already working on a Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 that are both using the exact same designs from last year, but this time powered by the new Intel Hashwell Core i5 chip, in the case of the Surface Pro 2. Sadly we still don't have details on which processor the regular Surface 2 will have. An interesting twist to the design of both tablets is that apparently the kickstand, love it or ...

Then we go through the Microsoft Surface 2 and the new features that it'll include. We later shift focus to BlackBerry and their status as a company in the next coming months. All the way back in February we heard about an interesting accessory that seemed destined for Microsoft's Surface tablets, a new spin on the company's keyboard covers that would also include an extra battery, augmenting the built-in cell. We heard a Microsoft employee talking about building support for such an accessory into the Surface Pro – a move we assumed would mean that this new cover would be forthcoming – but it never ended up appearing. Now, as we're looking towards the launch of Microsoft's second generation Surface tablets, this idea is finding some new life, and rumors ...

According to a recent Adduplex blog post, there are a couple of new devices that have accessed its Windows ad network. Among them, two Microsoft names have popped up: first is the  Microsoft Corporation Surface 2, which could very well be the follow-up to the Microsoft Surface RT. We've given it the After the Buzz treatment recently but after the entire fiasco, the Redmond-company might opt to ditch the "RT" from the tablet's name altogether. Second is the "Microsoft Corporation Surface with Windows 8.1 Pro", which could either be the next-gen Surface Pro, or a Surface Pro running a ...

As much as we loved the Microsoft Surface Pro, we won't deny that the Surface RT was simply one of those products that only a mother could love. Beautifully designed, but terribly clunky in its performance, and app support. Some of us still believe that a second stab at the project would give it a better chance, but most of us still debate if Microsoft will build a second-generation model after the $900M in losses. Still, new statements by some people that are highly involved could prove otherwise. The Surface RT, love it or hate it, was powered by a Tegra 3, and NVIDIA's CEO just came on ...

It's been nearly a year now since Microsoft introduced the world to its Surface tablets. As mobile device announcements go, Microsoft nailed it. While there were some rumors talking about the idea of a Microsoft tablet in the days leading up to the event, we were practically shooting in the dark – first there was word that it could be some kind of Barnes & Noble Nook tie-in, and with just hours to go until the announcement itself, we heard that it might be more gaming-focused, like an Xbox 360 accessory. In the end, what we got was surprising, impressive, and just inspiring: it was a ...

Microsoft made some bold, risky choices when introducing its first Surface tablets. Both the Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro Surface models did things sort of differently from competitors like the iPad or any number of Android tablets. For one, Microsoft chose to position these two as premium devices, and avoided the bottom-scratching battle for budget tablet sales taking place in the $200-$400 range. It also gambled on not going with a unified platform for its mobile apps, making its tablets incompatible with apps already developed for Windows Phone. I'll get back to the app situation in a ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Apple's release of iOS 6.1.4 and why nobody is excited about it. Then we go through HTC's Q1 results, which prove to be extremely bad for the company. Microsoft is next as we've got credible reports that a second-generation Surface tablet will be smaller and launched in June. Nokia is next as a new patent points to smartphone cameras with adjustable aperture. We end today's show talking about a Google Smartwatch patent that brings a touch-sensitive wristband. It's still hard to tell if any of these patents will ever happen, but we can't deny a ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Google's exclusive offer to new Nexus customers. We then talk about certain issues many of us have detected with Android 4.2. Asus makes the news with their possible $99 Nexus variant. Microsoft is also working on a probably Surface 2 combo of tablets, and this time the design and concept changes dramatically. We end today's show by talking about Nokia's recent job posting and how this could mean either Nokia Maps info on Android, or Android powered Nokia smartphones. All this and more after the break.
