An analyst from the Jefferies & Co. says that Research in Motion will indeed by launching the Storm 3 as the latest in the Storm franchise, contrary to any rumors that the device may have been cancelled. The new Storm 3, unlike its predecessors, is said to eschew the SurePress click screen and instead opt for a regular capacitive touchscreen, like that found on the new BlackBerry Torch. The device is said to be of similar thickness, but will come with more memory and BlackBerry 6 OS at its core. The Storm 3 is slated for a November launch. Another interesting speculation from the analyst ...

RIM may be preparing a hardware refresh for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550, allegedly dubbed the BlackBerry 9570, although this device seems to be different than the rumored "Storm 3" we saw a few days ago. According to BlackBerry Leaks, which has posted both a purported image of the phone as well as a smattering of specs, the 9570 will pack 512MB of RAM, a five-megapixel camera, and -- perhaps most importantly -- BlackBerry's all new OS 6. BGR is speculating that the refresh is necessary because OS 6 requires 512MB of RAM, meaning that the current crop of Storm 2's are not suitable for ...

Another rumor has emerged to further confuse the issue of the BlackBerry Storm 3, with BlackBerry Leaks claiming to have received conflicting specs for this vaporous device from multiple sources. However, the Storm 3 being referred to by the site is not the Storm 3 9570 we just saw pop up in Verizon's Cellebrite system -- a.k.a. the Storm 2 OS 6 refresh -- but supposedly that handset with capacitive buttons which surfaced back in September courtesy of Berry Review. The Storm 9570 was recently rumored to have been canceled, further muddying the situation. So this device, which we'll call ...

New rumors on the BlackBerry Storm3 has it that the device will be a minor update from the BlackBerry Storm2. The third generation of the Storm franchise will have slightly improved specs and will include a mobile hotspot feature along with BlackBerry 6 operating system including the new Webkit browser, a first for RIM smartphones. Among the improvements from the hardware side, the Storm3 packs a more modest 512 MB RAM--twice that of its predecessor--and a 5-megapixel camera, up from 3. With the BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider launching soon, we'll have to see if buyers will prefer a pure ...

There hasn't been a lot of news on what Verizon Wireless wants to do with its BlackBerry Storm franchise, which uses a SurePress touchscreen technology, requiring users to actually press in on the screen, like they would on a touchpad of a laptop. The devices in the Storm series have so far been met with mixed reviews, but it looks like RIM is planning on a storm revival with the Storm 3, a device that is said to be powered by a new OS that's not quite the current BlackBerry OS nor is it the next-generation BlackBerry 6 OS. Additionally, the Storm 3 will be powered by Verizon Wireless' ...

It looks like Research in Motion is still working on their BlackBerry Storm franchise; after having released the Storm 2 last year, America's leading smartphone maker will be following up with a Storm 3 later this year and a Storm 4 in 2011. The Storm series, in their tablet touchscreen form factor, will be competing with the yet to be released BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider, which uses a touchscreen that slides in portrait mold to reveal a keyboard. The Storm 3 will be a multimedia and gaming device with RIM reportedly working with EA on bringing some gaming titles to the touchscreen tablet ...

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 was recently popping up on Vodafone's database and there was enough room for speculations and fantasizing about what it would look like. Now there are some new bits of info which are to be classified under the Rumor category. First of all, the BlackBerry 9900 will allegedly be a touch-screen enabled BlackBerry Bold 9000. Adding this to the already popular form factor will somehow generate the idea that this device, codenamed BlackBerry Montana - a revived Magnum/Dakota project - will inherit the popularity and success of the Bold 9000. Nothing more is known about ...

RIM's rumored BlackBerry 9900 phone may be one step closer to making its debut, if the screenshots leaked from a German Vodafone database are legit. While they don't reveal anything new about the phone itself, the presence of a "9900BB battery cover" in the list strongly suggests that there's a soon-to-materialize 9900 phone to go along with it. The 9900's layout and features have been the stuff of great debate since the phone first showed up on BB enthusiast radar. Some are expecting a Bold-like design with a non-slider keyboard and new touchscreen input, while other rumors point to a ...

Just a bit more than two weeks ago we reported about the Blackberry 9570 as an alleged refresh for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550, sporting 512MB of RAM, a 5MP camera and BlackBerry OS 6. Even though leaks indicated everything was going according to plans, BBLeaks reports that "regrettably, RIM has decided not to pursue this device further and has ended the program", their source has been informed. On the same note, Verizon allegedly reassured that "BlackBerry 6 will be making its way to more Verizon products in the near future, including the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and the BlackBerry Curve ...

BlackBerry Leaks has published several more photos of the alleged BlackBerry Storm 9570, and as expected, the device looks very much the same as the Storm 2 9550. Therefore it seems that, however this handset ends up getting branded, it is really just a Storm 2 with extra RAM to enable smooth operation of BlackBerry OS 6. Any rumors of a restyled device with cutting-edge features like 4G data are therefore probably a bit premature, and likely represent hardware even farther down RIM's roadmap. There are now leaked pictures of the BlackBerry Storm3, which will effectively succeed the Storm 2 in the Storm franchise. The device will sport a larger 3.7-inch touchscreen display, replacing the smaller 3.2-inch SurePress display on the first two generations, 8 GB of storage, and BlackBerry OS 5 for launch it seems as the attached brochure has "5.0" underlined. Also, it seems that the piezo electronic SurePress click screen is making a return this time as well; the brochure indicated "yang ketahanan," which translated means resistance, according to IntoMobile. In this case, resistance ...
