Just about two years back, Google acquired the Quickoffice productivity suite, which it ultimately made available for free to its Business Apps customers. Late last summer, that same free availability spread to iOS and Android users everywhere. But then word came down last week that Google was shuttering the project (at least, in the form we knew it), and would be instead integrating Quickoffice features into Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
