Yesterday saw Sony launch its latest Android flagship, the Xperia Z3, and while the phone helps refine the hardware Sony brought us in previous models like the Z2, it doesn't necessarily take a lot of bold steps in new directions. In recent months, we've finally started to see quad HD 2K displays start to show up on top-tier handsets from big-name Android OEMs, from the LG G3 back in May, to the Note 4 we just got. A quad HD smartphone display, like the kind we find on the LG G3 or new Galaxy S5 LTE-A edition, has the obvious benefit of packing a heck of a lot more pixels than a 1080p component. And simply by nature of being the latest-and-greatest, its presence on a phone is going to attract a lot of attention from spec-focused, technically-minded shoppers. But once you get past the novelty of a screen with such incredible pixel density, are there other real benefits to be found? Apple's next flagship, what we've been referring to as the iPhone 6, has been hotly anticipated throughout multiple leaks. What somehow hasn't managed to leak up until now is that this phone may feature a QHD display, just as the LG G3 does. Taiwanese actor Jimmy Lin, known for his early leak of the iPhone 5c last year, has posted an image to Weibo showing off what's allegedly a live iPhone 6 model, compared to the iPhone 5s.
