An HP handset that is likely to be the Palm Pre 3 has just passed through the FCC, sporting AT&T 3G capabilities and, more interestingly, reportedly running webOS 2.3 — a version of the operating system that we’ve never heard of. It’s important to note here that there’s no direct evidence of this being the Pre 3, but with the Veer 4G having already gotten FCC approval for the same bands — and no other known HP/Palm handsets on the horizon — the QWERTY slider described in the application would seem to have only one likely identity. Earlier today we got a chance to check out a mysterious new HP Palm smartphone, a keyboardless slate that’s supposedly the HP Stingray. Fresh from the same source who provided that intriguing pic comes something new for the Pre 3, a shot of the phone running on Verizon’s network.

This week, HP introduced two new smartphones: the mini-slider Veer and the successor to the Pre line, the Pre3. Today, the two devices are being shown off in videos emphasizing on the looks as well as the features they will bring to owners.
The miniature Veer sports 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 2.6-inch 320 x 400 sub-HVGA screen, five-megapixel camera and 910 mAh battery. The Pre3 on the other hand is packing a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8×55 CPU, 512MB of RAM, 3.6-inch WVGA screen, 8GB and 16GB configurations for storage as well as a 1,230 mAh battery.
