If you're on the Rogers network in Canada and have had your eye on the latest WebOS device from HP, you'll be happy to know that you can now grab the Palm Pre 2 for just $99 CAD (that's $97 USD) with a new two (update: three) year contract. Rogers uses the same 3G bands as does AT&T, so if you can sucker a Canadian friend into getting the subsidized price on the handset, then giving it to you (perhaps at a small profit for your friend), you'll be saving a lot over the $450 unlocked AT&T 3G-capable Palm Pre 2 that has been available for several weeks. Palm has promised that the legacy Palm hardware, like the Pre, Pixi, and the respective "Plus" editions, will get the WebOS 2.0 update. There's been a bit of uncertainty as to exactly when that would happen, but in light of a recent O2 Germany tweet, it looks like the update might be happening in Q1 of 2011, or at least for German users. Further, as rumored by WebOS-focused site WebOS en Castellano, the pending update might by to version 2.1, providing optimizations to WebOS to run on older software. We've mentioned Angry Birds for webOS and that certain glitch with the Pre that got in the way of updating the popular game -- that has been fixed by the way -- and it looks like the winter edition is now available for webOS users. The blockbuster game is now available in the App Catalog for the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi and it will cost you $1.99. Rovio opted for releasing -- advent calendar-like -- daily levels until Christmas and this autumn's Halloween Edition is also available for all those who are running webOS and want to help out the birds recapture the eggs to be found in the illicit ...

An alleged Pre issue was keeping the popular iOS and Android game - Angry Birds - from being updated and pushed to the App Catalog last week. According to a Rovio tweet, Palm has solved the issue and the game developer announced the arrival of the update to the Pixi and Pre soon. Furthermore, Angry Birds Seasons is "almost there" for your webOS device according to Rovio as the festive version recently hit iOS and Android. There's the picture to prove it in case you were skeptical or maybe even afraid you might be left out. In these circumstances, we can't help but wonder: how about Windows ...

We know that the Palm Pre 2 will be landing in the UK on Monday, November 15, available for £399 unlocked exclusively from Palm but we also know that O2 (and other carriers) are not stocking up on the handset - at least for the time being. After the mystery of the Palm Pre 2 preorders announced to start on November 8 and the rumors of a November 12 UK launch, today arrived with an announcement instead of the handset itself but the news is quite good as it seems there's only a few nights to sleep until the device will be available. Palm has both tweeted and updated its Facebook page to announce that its highly anticipated Palm Pre 2 handset will be available in the UK starting this Monday, November 15, exclusively from Palm. The device will sell for £399 (roughly $640) and it seems like the carrier O2 is not going to offer ...
