And as always you can hit up the podcast post on the site for direct access to the download links as soon as they're up. Like, right now. Enjoy! Our CES followups are done, our convention-center head colds are almost dribbled out, and the first small scents of jamon are starting to waft over from Barcelona. It must be almost springtime for Pocketnow, and you know what that means: the MWC 2016 rumor reactor is humming its way up to 100% ...

As Spotify struggles with competition and licensing agreements with the music industry, it has decided to not only go into podcast distribution, but video as well. The company is introducing video content to its Android app in the US, UK, Germany and Sweden starting this week. The iOS app will get the update late next week. Spotify is licensing short-viewing content from content creators including the BBC, ABC, Turner Broadcasting, Comedy Central, Vice, ESPN and Maker Studios — the producers of Epic Rap Battles. Tastemade and other companies are planning on producing original, ...

When you go looking for a new app, it's good to know what you're getting into. That's why app stores like the Google Play Store try to provide users with ample notice of what to expect, from permissions the app will use, to the presence (and pricing) of in-app purchases, to a rating, warning users of potentially objectionable content. That's well and good when all the content in your app is coming right from the publisher, but what about when the app itself is a tool for consuming outside content: say, something along the lines of a web browser, or a media player? Developers of such titles ...

The comfortable Airbnb with the log burning in the fireplace is gone, as are the dry sandwiches and free coffee of the press room. We're back in our respective cities following the crazy hallway podcasting days of CES 2016, most of us wiser, all of us older, and at least one of us with a big 'ole post-Vegas beard. And now that you're caught up with where we're sitting ... we're gonna catch you up with what's new in ...

Vice City. Full of fattening foods, business propositions of the nether regions, fewer grand theft auto charges than you'd think would be there and — for one week out of the whole year — tech here, tech there and tech everywhere. I don't know how Pocketnow's largest ground crew survived through all of it, but they did. And they're here to tell the tale. (Recorded) LIVE from CES 2016, this is episode 182 of the Pocketnow Weekly! Check out the high-quality audio version of our podcast right here or on your podcasting feeds starting today at 11:00am Eastern or you can also catch our ...

Update: We'll see you next week at CES 2016 in Las Vegas! That's if we remember to do the podcast in the first place... The stretch between Christmas/Hanukkah and New Year's is a farce. So for this final episode of the year, we're turning the wheel over to you, listeners and viewers, by taking any questions you want via email and ...

Update: Who doesn't like some high-energy Peter Frampton and a touch of EXID to start a podcast, right? See you Wednesday! Some weeks, even listening to K-pop while prepping the rundown can't make the work go fast enough. As 2015 races to a close we've still got tons of work to do outside podcast-land, like finishing up our Pixel C and Lumia 950XL reviews and leaving the office in time to go see The Force Awakens. So you'll forgive us if we're a little pressed for time today. But not to worry: we're still gonna cover all the critical stuff from the world of mobile technology, like ...

Update: Yes, the Pocketnow Weekly has applied to be on Google Play music. We also have a Google+ community where you can keep updated on what's going on with the podcast right here. It's probably been years now since you last used an iPod, having traded your single-purpose music player in for a smartphone (and that smartphone in for the next model, and so on and so forth) years ago, but the iPod's legacy lives on in many ways, not the least of which being its role as the namesake for the podcasts we still enjoy to this day – we even happen to record one ourselves from time to time. No sooner had our moon boots touched down on US soil than Apple held a two-hour marathon event to unveil its new iPhones and a giant iPad ... and our keyboards barely had a chance to cool down from that before a Moto X Pure Edition came a'knockin' at our door, just begging to be unboxed. It might as well have been a bar. Or a dance club. Full of EDM, feathers and psychotic playhouses. Really, when you walk into the Messe Berlin around this time of year, you should expect and receive everything. Buzzed-about wearables from Huawei and Samsung made their ways to the fray. Sony wore its Xperia lineage with its sixth coat of paint. ZTE splashed more of its truer colors onto the newest Axon smartphone.
