You'd think that for a company like Sony, and because of the success of the PlayStation, selling phones that are "PlayStation Mobile certified" would be a huge plus, right? Well, the reality is quite different, and we predicted this would happen when we reviewed PlayStation Mobile a couple of years ago. It was hard to find a sense in the ability to play games from 1997 in today's market, and because of this and many other issues, the story has come to an end. Sony's plan to differentiate from the crowd has just taken off. Right on schedule, the company has just launched the PlayStation Mobile initiative that they announced recently. The idea is that this will be a cross-platform mobile gaming service where users can buy a game once on the PlayStation Store, and play it on select Android smartphones or tablets as well as in Sony's new PS Vita.
