February 21 was a busy day for RIM and PlayBook owners alike. Shortly after the release of the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, bloggers will be glad to find out that the official WordPress App for PlayBook is also available for download on BlackBerry AppWorld. This app allows you to write posts, edit pages, and manage comments on the go. Both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress (2.9.2 or higher) sites are supported. The application features similar capabilities with those you can find in the Wordpress for BlackBerry smartphones, but with a much better resolution, to take advantage of the ...

It didn't happen on the 17th, as rumored, but today is the day when RIM finally decided to release the long awaited BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. It is now available for download and comes with lots of goodies, such as native email, calendar and contacts sync, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn integration, that might be just the things whose absence kept people away before (and owners waiting patiently for the refresh). It also welcomes an updated BlackBerry Bridge app that provides Bluetooth connection between the BlackBerry PlayBook and the BlackBerry Smartphone. "Thousands of new apps", RIM ...

After seeing it jump around a little bit, it's started to seem more and more likely in recent days that RIM would be releasing version 2.0 of the PlayBook's system software tomorrow, February 21. One thing that's been following all these rumors of potential release dates has been the claim that we'd also be seeing RIM release an updated version of its BlackBerry Bridge software to coincide with PlayBook OS 2.0 availability. After finally getting a chance to see BlackBerry 10 in action, as we did yesterday, the other big software news we've been looking forward to from RIM was the arrival of PlayBook OS 2.0. As a QNX-based platform, it's very much tied to the company's work on BlackBerry 10, making us even more interested to see what's released. The last we heard, February 17 was being floated as a potential release date for the update. A new rumor seeks to amend that estimation a bit, now focusing on a release just a few days later. N4BB reports hearing from a number of its sources within the BlackBerry ...

Some pictures have surfaced of BlackBerry Playbook accessories taken at BlackBerry DevCon Europe 2012. In the image above you can see the BlackBerry PlayBook keyboard case which also features a multi-touch pad. It's said to offer enough juice to go for 30 days, hence the rather heavy weight. The image below seems to be one of a docking station for the BlackBerry PlayBook where the tablet connects via HDMI. There's also a LAN port for the times you have no WiFi but there's a chance for wired internet. What we wish we could have seen pictured was the rumored upcoming ten-inch PlayBook. ...

The BlackBerry Playbook OS 2.0 is expected this month -- on February 17 according to some rumors -- after the world saw a demo at CES complete with the BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps built-in (which will allow Android apps to run on the Playbook as well as BlackBerry 10 devices after developers repackage the applications). Developers will have to submit their packaged and signed Android apps by Monday, February 6th, 2012, in order for them to be available in the BlackBerry App World when BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 comes out. Aside from Android apps, the BlackBerry Playbook OS 2 will ...
