If you like to automate your inter- and intraconnected life on your mobile phone, Tasker has been one of the big apps to get. But with Google now drawing red lines with device manufacturers and app developers, it doesn’t take much for a task automation application to get the hammer swung at it. HTC was one of the first of its kind to splay its native apps like Calendar, Scribble and Car (Mode) to the Google Play Store. This allowed for HTC to push out updates to individual apps to users instead of having to wait for a software update to do so. Given attitudes towards software updates and the tedious process of pushing one through carriers, you could say HTC began what was fit to be a trend.

Amazon’s last move regarding anything Google was a pretty mean one. Not only would it not support sending music from its app over to Chromecast, but it took Chromecast off of its marketplace. But it seems as though while that bad blood is sticking around, the Android ecosystem still needs that Amazon Music support.
