Last week saw the arrival of the first Google Play edition Androids, and just a moment after they got here, we started seeing the first attempts to port their software over to existing phones. Primarily, the focus seems to be on Galaxy S 4 editions, and we already told you about one that would work on the international GS4 (the LTE-enabled version with a Snapdragon SoC). The US carrier editions of the phone aren't too far removed from that model, so it's no great shock that this week we're learning about a new port for the Verizon GS4, model SGH-I545, as well as Sprint's SPH-L720. When HTC announced there would be a Google Play edition HTC One following Google I/O in May, many existing owners of Ones were upset, and rightly so. They purchased what they thought was exactly what they had been waiting for, one of the best smartphones ever created. And just weeks after purchasing it, it was revealed that it would soon be sold running completely stock Android. I'd be upset, too.
