If it wasn't enough that LG misstated the presence of minimum Gingerbread hardware specifications in a Facebook post earlier this week, it turns out that the other assertion to come from that incident, that Optimus One phones won't get Android 2.3, is also false. LG put up a public notice today that all the Optimus One-series hamdsets will definitely be getting their own Gingerbread updates in the future. There's no schedule available yet, but seeing as just two days ago the company apparently had no plans to send out the update at all, we're guessing it could take a while to materialize. ...

Yesterday we reported how the LG Optimus One has already sold over one million units in 40 days from its launch with the device being available in Europe, Asia-Pacific countries and the USA (as Optimus S on Sprint, Optimus T with T-Mobile and Vortex coming soon to Verizon - to be launched on November 18, 2010). You might remember that the Android 2.2 Froyo powered LG Optimus One, to which the manufacturer refers to as the "transitional smartphone", scored fairly well in benchmarks being almost on par with the Nexus One.
