We've been talking about LG's Lucid 2 for a little under a month now, after it first debuted in a leaked image, apparently as Verizon's version of the LG Optimus F5. Yesterday we got a fresh dose of Lucid 2 rumors, and it was looking like phone was getting ready to go official. Sure enough, today Verizon has formally announced the Android smartphone, going up for sale on April 4. We had previously heard that April 4 might be when the Lucid 2 hits stores, but from the sounds of Verizon's announcement, you're going to have a better chance finding it online initially; while online orders kick ...

About a month ago, a press render leaked, showing off the LG Optimus F5 as it would reportedly land on Verizon, as the Lucid 2. At the time, we thought the only change between the F5 and the Lucid 2 would be a slightly different design for the phone's exterior. A new leak, however, is suggesting that there could be some actual improvements made to the handset as it adapts for Verizon, including a new, higher-capacity battery. According to this leak, LG is swapping out the Optimus F5's regular 2150mAh battery for a 2460mAh component employing a new silicon oxide anode. The advanced ...

Of LG's recent wave of middle-to-low-end Optimus Androids, the F series is probably the most interesting. Both the F5 and F7 support LTE, and while they're a far cry from the bleeding edge, they have some solid specs that could make for a good backup phone or one when you're on a budget. When announced, LG talked about European availability, but now we're beginning to see how they might start arriving in the US, upon a leak of a press render of the Optimus F5 as it may come to Verizon. Supposedly, the F5 will come to Verizon as the Lucid 2. LG's original Lucid was a four-inch WVGA Android ...

Technically, the Mobile World Congress may finish-up tomorrow, but with all the big smartphone and tablet events over, we're calling it a wrap. We've had a great time the past several days bringing you news of all the new hardware and software companies came to the event to promote, and as we now begin to recuperate and get back to business as usual, we wanted to take a look back on MWC 2013 and everything it brought us. The week leading up to the MWC was filled with rumors, as we should expect, and while some played out, others fell flat on their faces. LG really got things started early, ...

"Mid-range" is the middle name of the LG Optimus F5 and it's been already announced, together with its higher end sibling, the F7, right before MWC's start. It feels good in the hand despite the fact that the phone is made out of plastic -- like every other LG phone the company brought to MWC this year -- however, not cheap (unless you consider the Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II cheap with their hyperglazed plastic builds). Just to recap, the Optimus F5 is the lower-end among the F-series of phones, packing a 4.3-inch qHD display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, five-megapixel ...

LG really hadn't left us with any us with anything to be surprised by at the MWC this year; over the last couple weeks, we've heard it model-by-model reveal pretty much everything it was intending to show at the Mobile World Congress in advance. The F series were the last holdouts, but even they've gone official. Now LG is rounding everything all up and showing off its full new lineup. The F series includes the Optimus F3 and F5, both mid-rangers, but with some decent specs, especially for the F7. The L series II has three phones in it, the Optimus L3 II, L5 II, and L7 II; these are all ...

Yesterday, we brought you some leaked renders of two of LG's many upcoming Androids, the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 from the company's F series. At the time, all we had were those names and the pics, and were expecting to get the full story on the two phones as the Mobile World Congress got started. Like so many other of the handsets LG is planning to showcase at the event, it's gone ahead and gotten a head start, officially announcing the F5 and F7 today. If you're interested in a high-end Android, set your sights elsewhere – like on the Optimus G Pro – as these F series models are ...

When it comes to LG's smartphone lineup for the Mobile World Congress, the company isn't exactly holding its cards close to its chest. We've already heard LG announce phones like its new L-series models and the Optimus G Pro, and yesterday the company released an MWC trailer video (below) which touches on all the new Androids it plans to bring to Barcelona. Today, we get to take a look at a pair of those models, with press renders leaking for two F-series devices. On the left up there is what's reportedly the Optimus F7, and on the right the Optimus F5; while both keep their hardware ...
