The Samsung Focus isn't the only device that can act as a USB modem for your laptop or computer. In turns out that with a little bit of elbow grease, those rocking the LG Optimus 7 can also utilize this hidden feature of Windows Phone 7. Below are the steps to get it working (and by our measure, it should only be a matter of time before a procedure is available for every Windows Phone 7 device). 1. Unlock your LG Optimus 7 to access the program MFG (i.e. this is the passcode) 2. Download and install drivers for LG modem on your PC 3. Turn off the data connection (Settings / Network Mobile) ...

Ten free applications, across a variety of categories including social networking, utilities, and gaming, worth over $30, will be given away every 60 days, and will be available for a period of 60 days. The apps will be available through the LG Application Store, which will launch on LG Windows ...

LG Electronics posted record operating losses in the third quarter of this year, led by poor smartphone sales from the struggling mobile division. Unlike American rival Motorola, which is showing signs of a resurgence after several years in the desert, the Korean manufacturer saw net profits fall 99 percent from the previous quarter, with the mobile business alone accounting for a reported 304 billion won operating loss (about $270.7 million). The division's performance is so poor that it is dragging down better numbers produced by less troubled parts of the firm. Just last month LG took ...

The first ever regions for Windows Phone 7 handsets to be available for the masses were Australia and New Zealand where customers were able to buy the highly anticipated Windows Phone 7 platform operated devices many hours before the rest of the world (except U.S. where the date for that is November 8). Whether the demand in handsets was higher than expected or stocks of devices were lower than they should have been, one thing is for sure: there are reports according to which the region is fighting severe shortage in handset stocks. From the 11 locations of Telstra where Windows Phone 7 is ...

Last week, we were treated to an early unboxing video of LG's upcoming Optimus 7. We saw the official packaging, box contents, and even a hardware tour. Unfortunately, the commentary was all in Italian. So, unless you speak, or at least comprehend, the Italian language, the unboxing experience probably felt a bit disjointed. Thankfully, another unboxing of the LG Windows Phone 7 handset has surfaced, this time with English commentary - check it out below. Head over to our extensive Windows Phone 7 guide for more information on the Optimus 7 and other devices. via: Tech65 YouTube

If you have seen LG's video about the Optimus 7 and kept reading about our handset coverage but weren't lucky enough to get a hands-on with the device, worry no more as LG is coming to the rescue. An interactive product page for the Optimus 7 has just been launched by LG where you can read about the device, its most important features - including their own DLNA and ScanSearch - and Windows Phone 7. You can fire up the emulator and take a look around but there's also a link to where this device will be available on SingTel, StarHub and M1. The Optimus 7 will sport a 1GHz processor, 3.8-inch ...

We get a chance to see LG's official Windows Phone 7 packaging, which includes a transparent window that's revealed when sliding the inner box out of its shell. The box contents are fairly standard: the device, headphones, microUSB sync/charging cable, wall charger, and manuals. As for the device itself, the Optimus 7 has a 3.8" WVGA display, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 1500 mAh battery. It will be available on October 21st. Telus will not be the only provider bringing Windows Phone 7 devices to Canada, as both Rogers and Bell have signed up to stock the Samsung Focus and LG Quantum (pictured left to right), respectively. With Telus scheduled to offer the HTC 7 Surround and LG Optimus 7, Canadian consumers now look to have a decent four-device selection to choose from. AT&T will be selling the Focus, Quantum, and Surround in the US, although the Optimus 7 will not be available from any domestic carriers at launch. With the US in general receiving the lion's share of handsets at launch, we wonder if European ...

Lots of devices went official today with Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 launch but the LG Optimus 7 was announced on LG UK's Blog even before the Redmond company's event. Now a Korean LG Blog has just tweeted a text which translates to "LG Electronics have been working closely with Microsoft from the early days of Windows Phone 7. And we adapted various and exclusive new technology on Optimus 7" (thanks to Joon for this) together with a link to not one, but two videos, one of them starring LG's Windows Phone 7 called Optimus 7 while the other one is all about the "Optimus 7Q" aka the LG ...

While still a couple of hours to go until Microsoft officially launches Windows Phone 7 - even which we'll cover in detail here on pocketnow.com - some itchy fingers on the UK LG Blog made a page go live before it was supposed to. Not that we didn't already see the leaked LG Optimus7 renders for the press, we even posted about its specs and features before but looks like Microsoft will not be the first to officially announce this Windows Phone 7. Sporting a 3.8-inch WVGA display and a 1GHz processor, powered by a 1500mAh battery and packing not 8, but 16GB of internal storage, the LG ...
