[Full Optimus 3D Review] One of the very first 3D smartphones the Optimus 3D by LG was released in June 2011. Inside the Optimus 3D is a 1GHz Texas Insturments OMAP 440 processor with 512 MB of RAM. Its 4.3-inch 3D TFT display has a WVGA (480 x 800) resolution. On back, the Optimus 3D is sporting two five-megapixel cameras for 3D pictures and videos in up to 720p HD. Other features on the Optimus 3D are the ability to output video in up to 1080P HD and a front facing camera with VGA resolution for video chatting. LG appears poised to launch a 3D smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. As if its press conference invitation's copy wasn't blatant enough -- "Into the New Dimension: Experience the new world that LG is opening" -- Dutch etailer and Carphone Warehouse subsidiary Phonehouse already briefly had a teaser page up for the "LG Optimus 3D" which has since been pulled. We saw the LG Optimus 3D being tipped for a Mobile World Congress launch with a flyer mentioning something that would take us "into the new dimension". Phandroid looks to have an exclusive picture of the alleged LG Optimus 3D which packs a large 4.3-inch screen -- pretty much like the prototype on display at CES -- dual-core processor (most probably the Tegra2 present on the Optimus 2X) as well as multi-channel RAM -- according to the tipster who took the picture -- with a front facing camera added. After the first images of the LG Optimus 3D leaked the manufacturer started teasing the 3D Recording-Viewing-Sharing features of the smartphone to be shown off at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. As far as specs were concerned, many eyebrows were raised when reading about the multi-channel RAM as part of the performance improvements LG brings to the 3D-enabled smartphone. It's expected that LG Electronics will announce the LG Optimus 3D P920 smartphone at MWC 2011. In the meantime we've been able to dig up a leaked promotional video demonstrating the phone's 3D capabilities. If the video is accurate, the 3D utilized on this phone won't require the bulky glasses that we've become accustomed to when watching 3D movies at a theater. We've known about the LG Optimus 3D for quite some time. It's the first 3D phone that uses glasses-free 3D technology. We were waiting for the official press release from LG to understand just to what extent the company has integrated 3D technology. And now we know. First, a bit about specs.
