After launching the Optimus 2X, the world’s first dual-core smartphone, LG is preparing for another world first, this time a 3D smartphone — the LG Optimus 3D we saw pictured — capable of 3D Recording-Viewing-Sharing.
The Optimus 3D is set to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as LG’s most advanced smartphone to date. The handset will feature dual-lens camera which will enable 3D recording on the smartphone, a glasses-free LCD panel for 3D viewing as well as HDMI and DLNA for 3D content sharing. According to LG, the lack of 3D [...]
We know that LG is preparing to unveil the World’s First 3D Smartphone with the occasion of this year’s MWC and we even know how the smartphone looks thanks to leaked pictures and ad renders.
A 20-second LG Optimus 3D ad has been leaked thanks to Pocket-lint and the video shows off the dual-cameras of the upcoming smartphone. Advertised “to see the world like we do”, the Optimus 3D will have not one, but two cameras at the back in order to create its own 3D content which could be then played back on the smartphone in three dimensions. If you’re [...]
LG appears poised to launch a 3D smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. As if its press conference invitation’s copy wasn’t blatant enough — “Into the New Dimension: Experience the new world that LG is opening” — Dutch etailer and Carphone Warehouse subsidiary Phonehouse already briefly had a teaser page up for the “LG Optimus 3D” which has since been pulled. (Unfortunately, the photo it was using to illustrate the page was just an Optimus One.)
Three-dimensional displays are poised to become more than a [...]
We saw the LG Optimus 3D being tipped for a Mobile World Congress launch with a flyer mentioning something that would take us “into the new dimension”.
Phandroid looks to have an exclusive picture of the alleged LG Optimus 3D which packs a large 4.3-inch screen — pretty much like the prototype on display at CES — dual-core processor (most probably the Tegra2 present on the Optimus 2X) as well as multi-channel RAM — according to the tipster who took the picture — with a front facing camera added. While this is just a rumor for the moment, [...]
After the first images of the LG Optimus 3D leaked the manufacturer started teasing the 3D Recording-Viewing-Sharing features of the smartphone to be shown off at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
As far as specs were concerned, many eyebrows were raised when reading about the multi-channel RAM as part of the performance improvements LG brings to the 3D-enabled smartphone. Today, LG teases exactly this, calling it yet another world first (after the Optimus 2X was world’s first dual-core smartphone and the all-around 3D features of the upcoming Optimus 3D).
It’s expected that LG Electronics will announce the LG Optimus 3D P920 smartphone at MWC 2011. In the meantime we’ve been able to dig up a leaked promotional video demonstrating the phone’s 3D capabilities.
If the video is accurate, the 3D utilized on this phone won’t require the bulky glasses that we’ve become accustomed to when watching 3D movies at a theater. Rather, you’ll be able to see the 3D effect with your naked eye.
Take a look at the video and let us know what other details you can find out about the [...]
We’ve known about the LG Optimus 3D for quite some time. It’s the first 3D phone that uses glasses-free 3D technology. We were waiting for the official press release from LG to understand just to what extent the company has integrated 3D technology. And now we know. First, a bit about specs. It’s running with the new TI OMAP 4 dualcore 1GHz chip with PowerVR SGX540 graphics. Here’s some verbiage straight from the press release:
The LG Optimus 3D packs exceptional features with performance in mind, including an advanced dual-core, dual-channel and [...]
