Man, have I ever got a bad feeling about Firefox OS hardware. I've been in this game long enough to know not to be blinded by specs, and appreciate what a difference the platform can make; just look at Windows Phone, which has done admirably well with hardware that's a solid generation behind Android. I can also appreciate that Firefox OS is looking to launch in markets where cost is going to be a big deal, and that's more true than ever when we're talking about a largely unknown, unproven platform. Technically, the Mobile World Congress may finish-up tomorrow, but with all the big smartphone and tablet events over, we're calling it a wrap. We've had a great time the past several days bringing you news of all the new hardware and software companies came to the event to promote, and as we now begin to recuperate and get back to business as usual, we wanted to take a look back on MWC 2013 and everything it brought us. We've been itching to get our hands on Firefox OS for a while now, and thanks to the ZTE Open at the Mobile World Congress, we finally got a chance to take it for a spin. As shouldn't be that surprising, it feels like a mix of ideas from a lot of mobile platforms. While connection problems kept us from diving too deep into apps, we took a quick walk through the phone's home screen, checking out notifications and its universal search feature. We'll be spending more time with Firefox OS in the future, but here's a quick look for now:

The cat may be out of the bag for the ZTE Open, the company's first Firefox OS smartphone, but that's not the only thing ZTE came to the Mobile World Congress to show off. To get the full scoop on the Open, as well as learn about the company’s other new hardware, our attention turns to the company's MWC press event this morning.
