We know, we're on a bit of an HTC One-series kick this Monday, but the news keeps on coming. Following those rumors about the One Max launch and the One Mini specs we've got a new sign that the One Mini could be nearly ready to go official, with HTC posting what sure looks like a One Mini teaser, only to pull the post moments later. For a brief period today, HTC's blog hosted a post entitled "Little Things That Pack a BIG Punch," accompanied by the infographic we show a portion of above, highlighting small things with impressive capabilities. The post didn't mention the One Mini by name, ...

For as long as we've been talking about the HTC One Mini, it's seemed clear that this Android, while taking a lot of cues from the full-sized One, wasn't going to measure-up to its predecessor in a number of ways. Obviously, we were looking at a smaller, lower-res screen, but rumors had also been talking about things like a lower-end SoC. So while we had a general sense of the sort of handset the One Mini might be, we've lacked certain specifics in regards to hardware choices. Today we get what sure look like a lot of answers, as some software spills the beans on the One Mini's hardware. ...

We've been blessed with an abundance of information on HTC's One Mini, and for an unannounced smartphone, it sure feels like we've got a pretty decent grasp on what to expect. That info's included a good number of relatively high quality images, comparing the Mini to its namesake and highlighting where its design differs. We continue with more of that today, getting our hands on a few more shots of the One Mini, showing the hardware from some new angles. That side shot reveals a new look to the phone's volume control – gone is the rocker from the One, and instead we have two distinct ...

Cellular phones started out as monstrous bricks. The first one I saw was being carried by a man in a suit walking through the mall. It had a handset attached to a coiled cord that went down inside a bulky-looking box with a handle and antenna on the top. It was comical. I laughed out loud. And then I stopped in my tracks. "This guy is talking on the phone -- while he's walking through the mall," I thought. It was earth-shaking. Something magical happened next: the possibilities of telephones that didn't need to be tethered to the kitchen wall went rushing through my head. Either that or ...

We've seen the hardware showing off a pint-sized version of the HTC One. We've uncovered confirmation of the HTC One Mini name in company documents. We've pieced together evidence of hardware like a 4.3-inch 720p display. With this much of the One Mini's story already out there, we've been anxious to finally hear this handset go official and get the scoop on any remaining details. Rumors have been a little uncertain about when we might hope HTC to launch the phone, and there's been talk of both August as well as possible fall dates. Today we get a little more support for August, thanks to ...

In the food service industry, when you're a server who's been slammed with too many customers and can't keep up with the demand, you're said to be "in the weeds." On a podcast, that same expression means something quite different. It means you've wandered so far from your intended topic (in this case, mobile technology) that you've found yourself in the far-flung wilderness talking about anything but (in this case, sports cars, British accents, and the adult film industry). But while we do spend a fair amount of time in OT land on today's Pocketnow Weekly, we still manage to get some tech ...

Of the high-end Android-powered smartphones on the market today, the HTC One ranks pretty well. Its specifications are impressive. Its in-hand experience is to die for. Those front-firing speakers and aluminum body? They're the icing on the cake!  The phone itself is bigger than some people feel comfortable with, and "big" usually means "more expensive". To combat those concerns, while riding on the coattails of the One, HTC has the One Mini on deck -- which may just be a plasticy mess! Specifications To save money, HTC may be abandoning the IR port in the One Mini, which isn't ...

There's been a big uptick lately in the amount of news we're hearing about the HTC One Mini. The once-M4 should be keeping the general look of the HTC One, but going with a smaller 4.3-inch display and tuning-down the rest of the phone's specs to match. We've been hoping that this screen would be a 720p component, like on the HTC First, but that's been difficult to verify – at least so far. Today, we get a look at the phone's User Agent Profile, which gives us a few answers, straight form the horse's mouth. First up: the name. While a recent Bloomberg report had us wondering if "HTC One ...

We only got finished telling you about the latest rumors concerning the HTC One Mini's launch schedule, when a whole bunch of new One Mini info has crossed our desk, delivering a new photo of the handset and touching back on a number of the phone's supposed specs. After Bloomberg was hesitant to refer to the One Mini as such, we began to have reservations about the phone's name. Well, Engadget's source seems far more confident, and clearly identifies this as the once-M4, now-One-Mini. As for its specs, this source wasn't able to confirm some key aspects like the 4.3-inch display's ...

No one can claim that HTC isn't doing its part to keep the 4.3-inch smartphone screen size alive, offering a 720p 4.3-inch display on models like its First and the rumored One Mini. We've managed to check out the latter in quite a few leaked pics, and have heard rumors that claimed the Android could launch this summer, possibly in August. While nothing's yet to go official, some new sources are talking about the Mini, and reiterating that idea of an August launch. This time, it was Bloomberg speaking to a pair of sources, and both relayed that HTC is preparing to start selling the phone in ...

Sometimes you get listener mail that asks how the band got together in the first place. Sometimes that happens the day after you drop some nostalgic sentimentalism all over the internet. Sometimes, simultaneously, there are some sweet, juicy rumors and leaks about a top-of-the-line camera phone with what looks like a moon crater on it. Sometimes you gotta put all that into a podcast with the original cadre of Pocketnow 'casters, and see what comes out. All that, plus the longest outtake reel in the history of Pocketnow, more Nokia EOS rumors than you can shake a stick at, the first-ever ...

Disclaimer: since the HTC One Mini is nothing but a rumored phone, with purported looks and specs, this piece is a heavy speculation piece. Please treat it accordingly.  ___ Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini vs HTC One Mini is the next big comparison between devices from the two OEMs. We've seen that question being asked over and over in the past (some still ask it today), concerning the two flagships from Samsung and HTC, the Galaxy S 4 and the One; now we're anticipating the question concerning the two miniature versions of the flagships and hopefully help you decide whether you should get the S ...
